3M™ Fire Barrier Cast-In Device Height Adaptors are 1-piece extensions that provide up to 4” of additional height to 3M™ Fire Barrier Cast-In Devices. No fasteners are required and installers simply snap the adaptor onto a metallic or non-metallic Cast-In Device. Adaptors adjust to accommodate concrete slab pour depths up to 12” thick. Adaptor/device assemblies are firestop tested up to 3 hours.

These adaptors allow installers to increase the height of 3M™ Fire Barrier Cast-In Devices to accommodate concrete slab pours up to 12 inches (304.8 mm) deep. This one-piece plastic adaptor features fast snap-on attachment to the Fire Barrier Cast-In Device — no tools or fasteners are required. The adaptor can add up to 4 inches (101.6 mm) in height to our Cast-In Devices for both plastic and metal pipes. It can also be modified for special applications in order to accommodate even greater depths.

When used in conjunction with Fire Barrier Cast-In Devices in listed systems, 3M™ Fire Barrier Cast-In Device Height Adaptors are firestop tested up to 3 hours in accordance with ASTM E 814 (UL 1479).

Recommended Applications

• Use in conjunction with metallic and non-metallic 3M™ Fire Barrier Cast-In Devices
• New construction jobs requiring concrete slabs greater than 8" (203.2 mm) deep
• Special applications requiring concrete pour depths over 12" (requires modifications to the adaptor)
• Typically used in new installations when the concrete slab thickness will be greater than 8 inches (203.2 mm).
